Decide how you will respond to Jesus.
వారు తిరిగి యెరూషలేముకు చేరుకొన్నారు, యేసు దేవాలయ ఆవరణంలో నడుస్తున్నప్పుడు, ముఖ్య యాజకులు, ధర్మశాస్త్ర ఉపదేశకులు, నాయకులు ఆయన దగ్గరకు వచ్చారు. వారు, “నీవు ఏ అధికారంతో ఈ కార్యాలను చేస్తున్నావు? ఇవి చేయడానికి నీకు అధికారం ఎవరిచ్చారు?” అని అడిగారు. అందుకు యేసు, “నేను మిమ్మల్ని ఒక ప్రశ్న అడుగుతాను. దానికి మీరు సమాధానం చెప్పండి, అప్పుడు ఏ అధికారంతో నేను వీటిని చేస్తున్నానో మీకు చెప్తాను. యోహాను ఇచ్చిన బాప్తిస్మం పరలోకం నుండా? లేదా మానవుల నుండా?” అని వారిని అడిగారు. వారు తమలో తాము చర్చించుకొంటూ అనుకున్నారు, “ఒకవేళ మనం ‘పరలోకం నుండి కలిగింది’ అని చెప్పితే ‘మరి మీరు ఎందుకు అతన్ని నమ్మలేదు’ అని అడుగుతాడు. ఒకవేళ మనం, ‘మనుష్యుల వలన’ ” అని చెప్తే, (వారు ప్రజలకు భయపడ్డారు. దానికి కారణం ప్రతి ఒక్కరు యోహాను నిజంగా ఒక ప్రవక్తని నమ్ముతున్నారు.) అందుకు వారు, “మాకు తెలియదు” అని యేసుకు జవాబిచ్చారు. అందుకు యేసు, “నేను ఏ అధికారంతో ఈ కార్యాలను చేస్తున్నానో నేను కూడా మీతో చెప్పను” అన్నారు. యేసు వారితో ఉపమానరీతిలో మాట్లాడడం ప్రారంభించారు: “ఒక వ్యక్తి తన పొలంలో ద్రాక్షతోటను నాటాడు. అతడు దాని చుట్టూ కంచె వేయించి, అందులో ద్రాక్ష గానుగ తొట్టి తొలిపించి, కాపలా కాయడానికి ఎత్తైన గోపురం కట్టించాడు. తర్వాత ఆ ద్రాక్షతోటను కొందరు కౌలురైతులకు అద్దెకు ఇచ్చి దూర దేశానికి వెళ్లిపోయాడు. కోతకాలం వచ్చినప్పుడు అతడు ఆ ద్రాక్షతోటకు వెళ్లి దానిలోని తన భాగం తెమ్మని ఒక పనివానిని ఆ రైతుల దగ్గరకు పంపాడు, కాని ఆ రైతులు వానిని కొట్టి, వట్టి చేతులతో పంపివేశారు. అప్పుడు అతడు మరొక పనివానిని వారి దగ్గరకు పంపాడు కాని, వారు వాన్ని తలమీద కొట్టి అవమానించి పంపేశారు. అప్పుడు అతడు మరొక పనివానిని పంపాడు, వారు అతన్ని కూడ చంపేశారు. అలా అతడు చాలామంది పనివారిని పంపాడు, వారు కొంతమందిని కొట్టారు, మరికొందరిని చంపారు. “పంపడానికి అతని దగ్గర ఒకడే మిగిలాడు, తాను ఎంతో ప్రేమించే, తన కుమారుడు. ‘వారు నా కుమారున్ని గౌరవిస్తారు’ అనుకుని, చివరిగా అతన్ని పంపాడు. “కాని వారు ఒకరితో ఒకరు, ‘ఇతడే వారసుడు, రండి, ఇతన్ని చంపుదాం, అప్పుడు ఈ వారసత్వం మనదైపోతుంది’ అని అనుకున్నారు. కాబట్టి వారు అతన్ని బయటకు తీసుకెళ్లి, చంపి, అతని శరీరాన్ని ద్రాక్షతోట బయట పడవేశారు. “అప్పుడు ఆ ద్రాక్షతోట యజమాని ఏమి చేస్తాడు? అతడు వచ్చి ఆ కౌలురైతులను చంపి తన ద్రాక్షతోటను ఇతరులకు అప్పగిస్తాడు. మీరు ఈ లేఖనం చదువలేదా: “ ‘ఇల్లు కట్టేవారు నిషేధించిన రాయి మూలరాయి అయ్యింది; ఇది ప్రభువే చేశారు, ఇది మా కళ్లకు ఆశ్చర్యంగా ఉంది.’” ముఖ్య యాజకులు, ధర్మశాస్త్ర ఉపదేశకులు, నాయకులు తమ గురించే ఆయన ఈ ఉపమానం చెప్పారని గ్రహించి ఎలాగైనా ఆయనను బంధించడానికి అవకాశం కోసం చూస్తూ ఉన్నారు. కాని వారు ప్రజలకు భయపడి ఆయనను వదిలి వెళ్లిపోయారు.

We have followed the question, the parable, the rejected Son, and the cornerstone; today the issue is whether we will answer honestly.
Do not stop at asking whether Jesus has authority. Ask what you will do if the evidence points toward an answer you did not want.
Let Questions Seek Truth.
Bring difficult questions to Jesus. Examine the Gospel carefully. Test claims rather than pretending. But refuse the kind of questioning that exists only to protect a conclusion already chosen.
Recognize the Rejected Stone.
The leaders reject Jesus, yet His quotation says rejection will not determine the final outcome. God makes the rejected stone the cornerstone.
Release the Need to Remain Judge.
The leaders approach Jesus as examiners of His credentials. The passage gradually exposes that they themselves are being examined by how they respond to God’s Son.
Answer Honestly.
Jesus does not demand intellectual dishonesty. He demands moral honesty. When investigation reaches a point where His claim is clear, continued neutrality is itself a response. Receive the cornerstone rather than building a life around refusing Him.
Episode 10 closes here with Jesus’ authority unmistakably contested as the journey moves toward the cross.
